Christian Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is an ancient ministry which has gained a resurgence during the last 30 years. It is a relationship in which one person assists another in listening and discerning God’s presence in their lives. The spiritual director serves as a companion on a life’s journey, listening attentively and contemplatively to an individual.
I meet with directees in my home office for hour-long sessions. As my home is not wheel-chair accessible I can arrange to meet with individuals in other Lansing area locations. I attempt meet with directees at times and on a schedule that meets directees needs. I do charge a fee to sustain my ministry. If you are interested in meeting with me, contact me at: jmdriedger(at)mindspring.com.
Coming soon: spiritual direction via webcam [skype] for folks who are unable to meet with me person-to-person. If you are interested, please contact me at the above email address.
I received my spiritual direction training at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) as part of my Master of Arts in Christian Spirituality degree. I am a member of Spiritual Directors International since 1996, am listed on the Mennonite Spiritual Directors list, and on the Lansing (MI) Spiritual Directors Network. I meet with a local spiritual director, a peer supervision group, and continue my training through additional coursework at AMBS and other continuing education opportunities. I am currently mentoring individuals in a local spiritual direction training program.
